Academics
High School

Pacific Christian Academy offers high school students an engaging academic program with a Christian worldview. Students are given tools to defend their faith and respond to the cultural issues in our world. Opportunities to ask questions about faith are plenty, and class discussions are lively and assist students as they make their faith their own.
Students begin each year with a spiritual get-away called Advance. This time away provides an opportunity for them to draw closer to God, bond with classmates, and get to know their teachers on a more personal level. Throughout the year, students attend daily Bible classes, weekly chapels, and participate in quarterly outreach opportunities in our community.Â
The academic program successfully prepares students for university, community college, the military, or work after completion of high school. Those who choose the university track normally are accepted to the four-year university of their choice. PCA offers Dual Enrollment courses to qualifying 10th – 12th grade student through Grand Canyon University. Student may enroll in online AP courses as well and be guided by our on-campus teachers. For students to need support as they learn, the SAS program is available.  Participation in activities such as job shadow opportunities, Honor Society, and Student Council round out the education. Teachers offer academic support daily during Helps classes.
The Dean of Academics guides each student to meet state standards for graduation. Most PCA students earn high scores on the SAT/ACT and are accepted by the college of their choice. In addition, many students graduate with more credits than needed, giving them a strong academic foundation.
Vocational Project
All high school students complete a vocational project. This project refines academic skills while helping students thoughtfully study the career they may want to pursue later in life. The class fulfills the Washington State CTE graduation requirement.
Grades and curriculum
9th Grade
During the freshman year, students take 5 core classes and choose 2 additional non-core classes as required by the State of Washington. Bible provides an opportunity to study in more depth the Old and New Testaments through an overview of each. During the junior and senior year, students study various books of the Bible. Most important, students are encouraged to ask questions and to deepen their personal walk with Jesus.
Writing, grammar, math, science, and history are part of the academic requirements. Assignments completed at home are a normal expectation.
Part of our mission is training student leaders. We believe that serving others is a vital part of living a Christian life. Community service offers students the opportunity to build their character, understand in a greater way their gifts and abilities as a person loved and created by God, and most importantly, grow in their spiritual life.

10th Grade
As a 10th grader at Pacific Christian Academy, students develop socially, spiritually, and academically as expectations and responsibilities are increased inside and outside of the classroom. Spiritually, students are challenged to grow in their walk with Christ in Bible classes, which are designed to disciple and help them discover their individual God-given destiny.
The 10th grade year is highlighted by the many experiments the students participate in during Mrs. Cho’s amazing science classes, as well as the critical thinking and debate that takes place in the Socratic Seminars during 10th grade English. Students have more opportunities in leadership positions, whether on the field, on the praise team, in the classroom, or as a designated student leader.

12th Grade
The senior year......the last leg of the high school journey! This is the year students learn resilience as they press toward the mark becoming a PCA graduate. Students are guided through the college and scholarship application process, and each is discipled throughout the year to grow spiritually in the gifts and abilities God has given him/her. Each senior is encouraged and supported as they finish strong.
The PTA vision is to develop students who are servant leaders, equipped with a Biblical worldview, and with a heart for all people. The year begins with an incredible life-changing mission trip to Dream Center in Los Angeles, CA. Through this trip, students grow in their personal relationship with Christ as well as their ability to reach out to all people with the love of Christ and a servant's heart.
The senior year finishes with a special time of speaking blessings over each individual senior.  Awards and recognitions are shared as each student is launched into the next chapter in his/her journey as PCA Alumni.
Graduation is personal and memorable as each student leaves PCA to continue to fulfill the destiny God has placed in his/her heart.
