Academic Counseling

School counseling program

PCA is committed to preparing students to be socially relevant leaders, fully prepared for higher achievement.  We know that academic excellence is important; we also believe that God has created each child with unique talents and abilities which may lead to expertise in fine arts, athletics, and other important facets of life.

The academic counseling program focuses on working collaboratively with high school students and parents to develop an individual educational plan.  The goal is to best prepare each student for his/her next steps beyond high school. Individual guidance is available throughout high school, with an emphasis on understanding how God will use each talent and ability in the future. Year-to-year academic progress is tracked, and most students graduate with more than the required WA State credits.

Juniors and seniors may benefit from university level online classes, which are offered through Grand Canyon University (located in Phoenix, Arizona). The classes are taught with the same Biblical worldview as classes on campus, and students earn credit in both high school and the university.

For students who have been with diagnosed with learning challenges, an individual plan is created which allows them to meet graduation requirements while taking classes that challenge their academic abilities.

Our program is designed to proactively educate and support students. Specifically, we aim to help students formulate career plans, improve social and personal relationships, employ effective decision-making strategies, and become reflective learners.
