FINE ARTS
Cultivating Creative Expression with a Biblical Foundation
God chose to devote an entire book of the Bible to songs and poetry. We often read description of creation and the beauty of this world His Word. He made us to respond to music and art, and to find in both a wonder of the Creator of this world. We worship Him in song and with instruments; we reflect His glory in artistic renditions of the amazing beauty of this world.
At Pacific Christian Academy, the fine arts are encouraged. and every student EE-12 has daily opportunity to worship God in song. The day starts with class worship and on Fridays with corporate worship. Students in EE through 6th grade attend music classes twice a week, and in the secondary school, band, choir, and art are daily enrichment classes. As teachers mention a beautiful sunrise or share a favorite song, students are taught that our God is seen in the fine arts.

Elementary
The elementary students enjoy music two times a week, learning how to read music, sing with their hearts, and by 5th and 6th grade, can write simple melodies. Fifth and sixth graders choose choir or band for the year and receive beginning to advanced instruction in the instrument of their choice. Knowing the arms and hands of children are not fully developed, small practice instruments are made available so that students find quick success as young musicians, Choir students learn to read music, to harmonize, and to sing with expressions and joy.

Secondary
Junior high and high school students enjoy advanced band and choir instruction, resulting in an enjoyment of music that rests deep in the soul. They provide special numbers at special chapels and assemblies and have been seen in the community encouraging those in assisted living and nursing home. The combined Pep Ban brings fun and adds to the school spirit at pep assemblies.

The Christmas program gives students opportunity to sing in a class choir, k-6 choir, and to also try out for solos, duets, and other special singing groups. The art of using the voice to bless and challenge others in an outcome of the choir program Band students perform various genres of songs, making the evening inspiring.
Many students look forward to the opportunity to be in the drama portion of the Christmas and spring programs. Acting skills are refined, and students enjoy 'bringing the hose" down when the script calls for high emotion.
